Why invest in EV chargers at your depot?
Complete control over your depot EV charging
Having your own depot EV charging infrastructure gives you complete control over EV charging availability, so you can plan your duty cycles around charging times, knowing precisely when an EV charger will be available – a guarantee you do not get on the public charging networks.
Larger LCVs often do not fit in public charge point bays, either. Make sure your fleet can always charge with dedicated on-site EV charging facilities shaped to your needs. Not only will that ensure the right size for your vehicles, but you will also get the correct charging speed, management platform, and elements, such as signage and bay design, that will also be suited to your fleet.
Increased cost savings
On longer, cross-country routes, your fleet may have to top up while on the go – it’s unavoidable. But for the majority of jobs, using your own EV charging infrastructure will provide more than enough range and is considerably cheaper than continuously using public EV charging networks.
With thousands of pounds worth of grant support available and grid connection rules changing, the upfront cost of installing EV charging points at depots has plummeted significantly, making now the perfect time to capitalise on cheaper depot EV charging.
Boost employee satisfaction, increase retention and attract new talent
Offering employees the option to drive electric vehicles with convenient access to EV chargers contributes to higher job satisfaction, helps you keep your best staff and attracts talent.
Surveys have reported that fleet drivers enjoy the smooth, quiet ride that electric vehicles offer and feel positive that the company they work for is helping to tackle climate change.
Promote green transportation
Transitioning your fleet to electric vehicles and providing EV charging at your depots showcases your business’s dedication to cutting carbon emissions and encouraging greener transportation. Customers and clients are increasingly choosing brands with strong CSR agendas, so investing in EV charging solutions is a clear sign of your company’s position on the era-defining issue of climate change.
