Meet the Easee One. Designed and produced by the Norwegian market leading brand, Easee, the One is the all new and improved version of their previous EV charging unit, the Easee Home.
In this blog, we are going to dive a little deeper into everything the Easee One has to offer, and what makes it so unique.
But let’s get started with a brief introduction – the Easee One is a 7kw home EV charger that adapts to all electric vehicles, power supplies and mains. Developed and produced in Norway, but designed specifically for UK homeowners – the One complies with all UK charging regulations. It stands out in the UK EV charging market for its distinct features (we will talk more about this later). In Easee lingo, the charging unit itself is called the ‘Charging Robot’ and is a compact aesthetically pleasing charger that packs a punch. All in all, the Easee One makes home EV charging easee.
1) Say goodbye to the Earth Rod
One of the biggest selling points to the Easee One is that it has integrated open PEN conductor protection, something the Easee Home did not have. This means no earth rod/matt-e device is needed! With this new futureproof structure, the Easee One brings you a more aesthetically pleasing charger and no additional costly groundwork.
2) Lightning Smart
Charge up to 3x times faster than with a regular outlet with the Easee One. The smart charging robot automatically detects the amount of power your electric vehicle needs. The unit then charges as rapidly as possible with the available capacity, and provides you with the highest charging power at the same time.
You can even have up to 3 Charging Robots on one fuse, if you have multiple EV’s in your household. All connected cars can be charged at the same time, and the available power is distributed automatically and dynamically between the vehicles. The total load will therefore never exceed the set limit for the fuse.
In addition, this crafty EV charger automatically updates your software for you, meaning you don’t have to faff around manually updating any pesky updates! The Easee One does it all, without you having to even lift a finger.
3) The best things come in small packages…
The compact charging robot on the Easee One is approximately 69% smaller than other electric EV chargers on the market, and the size doesn’t affect its functionality. The end result? A stylish EV charger that is small in stature but big on performance.
Oh, and it only weighs 1.5kg!
By removing any unnecessary materials in their design, the Easee One saves approximately 4kg of copper and plastic waste per charger. Another added bonus!
4) Safety and Style – what more could you want?
Safety – The Easee One is a robust, weatherproof, and secure EV charger that is made to last. With safety at the core of the design and 3 extra added levels of security, you know that the Easee One is built to stand the test of time. Come wind, rain, or shine (or even snow), the Easee One can withstand almost anything, meaning its more than capable of handling the brisk and unpredictable UK weather.
It features 11 sensors for temperature measurement and IP54 certification which means it is protected from dust and water ingress from any direction. The charging robot works with both integrated type B RCD protection and open PEN conductor protection, meaning it complies with all UK regulations and standards. The charging robot is also equipped with temperature sensors and protection to prevent overheating.
No extra protection is needed to keep your charger, your home, or you, safe.
Style – Fancy a change? Or perhaps your Easee doesn’t quite match your new electric car? Well, not a problem! With the Easee One, the unit has an interchangeable front cover, meaning you can switch the colour with ease. The colours available include Black, White, Red, Blue and Anthracite (Grey). You choose your design, then replace the front cover yourself, and Ta-dah! It’s like a brand-new unit! Whichever colour you choose, you have the peace of mind that the Easee One will still have the same sleek, simple and stylish Scandinavian style.
The black comes as standard, however any additional colours will cost extra.
5) Unique Smart Features
The Easee One has an array of smart features that can help benefit the user:
- Load balancing – The One matches the size of the main incoming supply fuse, then constantly monitors electricity usage in the home and alters the charge rate to the EV to ensure safe charging. The Easee One can actually load balance up to 3 units per fuse by integrated wireless communication.
- Easee App – Control your charger, anytime, any place. Set up charging schedules, monitor charging sessions, observe live values (charging speed for example) direct from your phone. You can even lock your charger on the app whilst you are away to prevent unwanted use!
- Different ways to charge – Use Plug, Charge and Go, the Easee App, or use an RFID card to start/stop your charge (RFID cards are an additional extra)
- Built in mobile communication and Wi-Fi connectivity – The Charging Robot has an integrated eSIM and mobile communication, meaning it supports a variety of standards such as 4G. The charging robot also supports Wi-Fi connectivity.

One of the most exclusive features the Easee One has to offer is the Cable Lock. With just the click of a button, you get to decide whether you would like a tethered or non-tethered EV charging unit. Acting like a universal charger, you can permanently lock your socketed cable into place with cable lock, giving it the look and feel of a tethered EV charger. Just keep it in the ‘Always Locked’ state, whereby the cable is locked into the unit until changed on the App. Or, if you prefer to keep your Easee charging robot untethered, you can still remotely lock and easily unlock your charge from the app, to ensure no unauthorised use.
